With up to 7000 guests at each site - water is obviously a vital resource! | April 2004 Envireau is working closely with Aardvark EM Ltd to work on sustainable technologies for remediation of soil and groundwater, as opposed to the widespread 'dig and dispose' option. We provide a one-stop shop for contractors, developers and regulators using good science and high quality implementation. We are also working closely on composting projects, for instance we are looking to co-compost food wastes from major producers with green wastes. |
| January 2004 A Couple fascinated by Bath's hot springs will be the first to tie the knot at the city's Roman Baths. John Findlay and Anna Jeary monitor the hot springs for Bath and North East Somerset Council and they are so enamoured with the healing waters, they will marry beside the Great Bath in April. Mr Findlay's fascination began as a toddler when his mother Jean taught swimming at Beau Street Baths. His 72-year-old mother, of Chewton Keynsham, said: "He just loves the hot spring waters in Bath. He was 18 months old when he flung himself in and learned how to swim. "This baby used to run along the side of the water and throw himself in to the alarm of all concerned." She added that the baths were a very romantic place to marry. "You think back to 2,000 years ago when all the Romans were sploshing around," she said. It is a magical place. As the moon pulls round the planet you can see a very slight change in the flow of water coming into Bath." Her son met Anna, 32, in 1998 when they worked for a Bath-based environmental firm. They were hydro-geologists studying the ground water and were part of the team that designed a monitoring system for Bath's hot springs. They now run their own water testing company Envireau and were hired by B &NES in 2002 to continue to monitor the springs. Mr Findlay, 43, said: "Anna has always been interested in springs and wells. "The hot springs and Roman Baths are a very special place for both of us. We will marry by the water's edge with the gas flares lit and the steam rising from the baths." The couple will have two ceremonies on Saturday, April 17. A morning wedding with their parents in attendance will be held before tourists arrive. This will be followed by an evening ceremony to re-affirm their vows with friends and family. The couple plan to add a touch of pagan spice to the proceedings and are researching pagan rituals such as jumping over broomsticks and blessings from the north, east, south and west to entertain their guests. Tom Deller, room hire manager, said: "We were getting a number of inquiries from people who wanted to get married at the Roman Baths, so we are now delighted they are licensed for wedding ceremonies." The Roman Baths are available to all for wedding ceremonies. Contact B&NES hire office on 01225 477782 or visit www.bathvenues.co.uk Article from The Bath Chronicle Website |
| December 2003 Hat-trick
of spa work tops a very successful first year for Envireau! Water Specialist
team wins contracts with several UK spa towns. More evidence of the UK spa revival emerged this week. Envireau are to be the groundwater consultants in the winning Osborne Property Group bid to redevelop Buxton Spa. Work will start in the New Year on this exciting project. 2004 looks to be off to a 'SPA'rkling start as Envireau will also be working with Cheltenham Borough Council to modernise the source of Cheltenham Spa water to bring the Pittville Pump Room source back on-line. We can also report that Envireau has been asked by the winners of the very successful BBC programme 'Restoration' to look at the feasibility of restoring the original source of groundwater to the Victoria Baths in Manchester. Envireau Hydrogeologist Anna Jeary says ''It is likely that this work will be filmed for an update of the BBC show in 2004 so you will be able to see how we get on with this''. Envireau Water Solutions is an active member of the British Spas Federation and are firmly behind the UK spa revival. We believe spas should offer a source of natural water wherever possible.
